All of the points were scored in the first half as CBC Cork avenged last year's Cup defeat to Glenstal Abbey at Temple Hill yesterday.
While this was by no means a classic, the Cork side produced a gutsy display to progress.
The Limerick school took a third-minute lead thanks to a penalty on the 10-metre line from Max Ryan, but once CBC took the lead with their first try of the day, captain Greg Roche grounding at the bottom of a maul, they never looked back.
Michael O'Halloran drove home the conversion to make it 7-3 and although Ryan replied with another sweet penalty after 18 minutes, CBC's second try three minutes before half-time proved to be the killer score.
A powerful drive forward from the pack culminated in Evan Mintern making it over the line and Glenstal never looked like clawing their way back into the contest.
