McEllin seals Irish bonus

Ireland were celebrating after a decisive win in Glasgow gave them a place in the semi-finals of the Elite tier in this month's FIRA U-18 championship in Tarbes, France.

Ireland knew they had to achieve a bonus-point win over Scotland and simultaneously deny the Scots, who were fresh from their victory over England, a losing bonus.

In the event, they achieved that with room to spare, outscoring Scotland by five tries to two after leading 19-7 at the break.

First-half tries from Chris Farrell, Rory Scannell and Ryan Murphy set up the win, with Conor McEllin grabbing a brace in the second half. Luke McGrath kicked three conversions.
