Mahony on double for Clongowes

WINGER Conor Mahony helped himself to 13 points at Coolmine RFC as defending champions Clongowes got their defence of the Leinster Senior Cup off to an emphatic start against Pres Bray yesterday.

Clongowes were in front after just four minutes when captain Conor Gilsenan got through in the left-corner.

Mahony touched down for their second try 12 minutes later then the winger superbly landed a 45-metre penalty.

Flanker Nick McCarthy gave Clongowes an 18-0 interval lead, with Mahony getting through for his second try just after the break.
