Lockyer's late show shatters Leinster
Leinster 'A' 23
British and Irish Cup
Leinster 'A' were brought crashing back down to earth by an injury-time try from Welsh domestic champions Pontypridd.
Dan Leamy looked to have handed Leinster a second win in a row in the British and Irish Cup after their comfortable victory over Leeds.
Back-row Leamy touched down in the closing stages after Noel Reid's cross-field kick.
But Dafydd Lockyer slipped through with the final play in the 87th minute to condemn Leinster to a heartbreaking defeat at Sardis Road.
The game had started brightly for Leinster when full-back Reid opened the scoring in the first minutes.
Dai Flanagan responded for the Welsh before second-row Craig Locke crashed over to leave Leinster trailing 14-6 at half-time.
Leinster responded through Reid, after Rhys Ruddock lost possession over the line, before Andy Boyle raced onto Cathal Marsh's sublime pass.
Leamy then crossed late before Lockyer left it even later to steal a dramatic victory.
