The Rugby Vets blitz is back! If you are over 35 and interested in a ten-a-side blitz in aid of a great cause then this could be for you.

Your club is invited to the Terenure RFC Vets Blitz (over 35 years of age) in aid of Crumlin Children's Hospital on Friday, April 8 in Terenure RFC.

The meeting time is 6pm, with the first match kicking off at 6.30pm sharp.

So how does it work?

The rules are as follows:

• 10 players on each team - five forwards, five backs.

• Non-contested scrums - five forwards in scrum

• Scrum-half runs or passes after scrum

• Roll on/roll off substitutions

• Players must be aged 35 or over

• Kicking allowed from hand

• Penalty kicks, conversions and drop-goals allowed

• Two ten-minute halves

• Yellow card: three- minute sin bin

Otherwise, normal rules apply.

There is no entry fee for blitz, but players and supporters are asked to make a donation to Crumlin Children's Hospital, if desired.

Collection buckets will be passed around before and after the blitz.

We aim to raise €500 per team so every little helps.

The guests of honour will be Gerry Cully of Crumlin Children's Hospital and Pat Cremin of Kielys of Donnybrook.

The winners of the blitz will win The Kielys of Donnybrook Cup.
