'Tennis was my main sport until I was 15 when rugby took over'

1. What boots do you wear?

Adidas Predators.

2. What's your pre-training routine?

Simple enough really, I just listen to some music. Nice and relaxed.

3. You're in charge of the after-match tunes, what goes on first?

'Sweet Caroline'

4. Imagine a world that you're not a rugby player - what's your job?

Nothing too exciting... so I'd say an accountant or something like that.

5. Stranded on a desert island, what three things do you take?

A phone, a charger and a survival skills book.

6. Which team-mate would you want with you on the island and why?

Oisín Dowling both for protection and his hunting prowess.

7. What was your favourite book as a child?

The Cherub books by Robert Muchamore.

8. What's your first sporting memory as a player or spectator and what do you remember from it?

Probably playing minis rugby in Wanderers RFC.

9. You have one moment from your career to do over. What is it?

A schools game. The Senior Cup semi-final in 2015 that we (Clongowes) lost against Belvedere by a point (27-26).

10. What rugby skill would you most like to possess?

Speed.

11. Favourite box-set/television series?

'Game of Thrones'.

12. What current player in your position do you most admire?

Ben Smith.

13. Who has been the biggest influence on your rugby career and why?

Noel McNamara, the current Ireland U-20s coach and also Leinster 'A' head coach. He convinced me to switch to full-back from out-half.

14. What was your first car?

Still waiting for it!

15. What sporting event makes your bucket list and why?

It has to be the Super Bowl. I'm a big fan of the NFL and that's the big day for it. It's always a brilliant spectacle.

16. One minute to go in the Champions Cup final, you're three points down and you have a penalty in front of the posts… what do you do?

Take the points and go again.

17. What was the last concert you went to?

U2 in Croke Park.

18. Tell us something interesting about yourself.

Tennis was my main sport until I was 15 when rugby took over.

19. What's your own best memory playing rugby?

Again it was a schools game and it's a very tight win over St Michael's College.

20. Who'll win the Gallagher Premiership in England and the Top 14 in France?

Saracens and Racing.
