Take 20: 'Other props I admire? It's hard to look past the two Lions in our own club'

1. What boots do you wear?

Adidas Kakari X Kevlar - the blue & yellow ones.

2. What's your pre-training routine?

Stretch, foam-roll, switch on... the usual.

3. You're in charge of the after-match tunes, what goes on first?

Depends on the result, but something chilled so Groove Armada - 'Superstylin''

4. Imagine a world that you're not a rugby player - what's your job?

Something in the business world, maybe investment. And hurling for Offaly as well of course on the side.

5. Stranded on a desert island, what three things do you take?

Hammock, a box of matches and I would have to bring sun cream.

6. Which team-mate would you want with you on the island and why?

Noel Reid - he's forever looking after me in foreign countries so might as well keep it up here.

7. What was your favourite book as a child?

Not a big reader but would have to say one of the early Harry Potters, probably 'The Chamber of Secrets'.

8. What's your first sporting memory as a player or spectator and what do you remember from it?

The 2002 All Ireland club hurling final in Semple Stadium, Thurles. Birr beating Clarinbridge.

9. You have one moment from your career to do over. What is it?

The Champions Cup semi-final in 2017 against Clermont.

10. What rugby skill would you most like to possess?

Place-kicking I'd say.

11. Favourite box-set/TV series?

'Tipping Point' is up there or currently loving 'Shooter' with Bob Lee Swagger.

12. What current player in your position do you most admire?

It's hard to look past the two Lions in our club.

13. Who has been the biggest influence on your rugby career and why?

My dad. He coached me from U-8s to U-18s and he still knows the game inside out.

14. What was your first car?

VW Golf.

15. What sporting event makes your bucket list and why?

Super Bowl. I'm a big New England Patriots fan.

16. One minute to go in the Champions Cup final, you're three points down and you have a penalty in front of the posts… what do you do?

Take the three and back ourselves in extra-time.

17. What was the last concert you went to?

I went to Longitude in July.

18. Tell us something interesting about yourself.

I'm a dab hand around the kitchen.

19. What's your own best memory playing rugby?

Probably my first Leinster cap or that Champions Cup semi-final that I mentioned earlier against Clermont in 2017.

20. Who'll win the Gallagher Premiership in England and the Top 14 in France?

Saracens and Racing 92.
