New Ross develop skills with Halloween tag

New Ross Participants

Ireland may be dead and buried when it comes to the World Cup but these group of students are fully alive to the fun and enjoyment of playing the game.

On Friday last Nick Murphy Club Community Rugby Officer for New Ross RFC was in Ballycullane National School teaching some of the skills of rugby through tag and fun games.

As it was the last day of school before the Hallowe'en break most of the pupils and teachers dressed up in their scariest costumes.

With fake blood, limbs missing and multiple injuries it almost resembled the aftermath of the Ireland v France game with some of the hair styles would even put Ian Madigan to shame.

The boys and girls who ranged from seven to 12 years of age had so much fun, they asked loads of questions about how they could join the rugby club in New Ross and continue on their enjoyment.

Special thanks to Margaret Furlong principal of the school for having us there and the other teachers who help out.

Later on in the year we will be back in the school to continue to spread the rugby message, we hope to see you there, folks.
