On what turned out to be a fabulous day more than 200 kids turned up to play in a tag rugby blitz held in Mullingar RFC.

With the ground starting to firm up and the weather getting warmer Mullingar rugby club hosted a blitz for the 5th class students of the local schools. David Farrelly the CCRO for the Mullingar area had been visiting the schools since September.

After the games every player got some Leinster Rugby memorabilia as a reward for all their efforts and treats supplied by the Rugby Club. The teachers were delighted with the organisation of the event and thought it was brilliant to see that participation was more important than winning. Because of this each school made sure that all kids got a run.

Mullingar's Educate Together were selected as the tournament winners by the referees. Special thanks to Claire O'Brien, Derek Maybury, Steve Coy and Barry Coade for their help on the day.
