Leinster have warded off potential suitors for Jordan Larmour by tying the hottest prospect in Irish rugby to his first senior contract.

His form has merited skipping the last two 1-2 years in the Leinster Academy, with news of the deal first reported by Des Berry in The Herald this morning.

It follows on from the preemptive strike made early last season when Joey Carbery’s talent convinced Leinster he was worthy of the same reward.

The 20-year-old sensation exploded onto the scene with a try that bamboozled Iain Henderson at Kingspan Stadium in a PRO 14 inter-provincial derby back in October.

He followed that with what can only be described as a wonder-try against Munster at Thomond Park on St Stephen's Day.

The steps up the rugby ladder have come quickly in the Champions Cup, with Larmour starting at home to Glasgow and away to Montpellier last Saturday, where he fared well against none other than Nemani Nadolo.

In between, he was rewarded with inclusion in Joe Schmidt’s Six Nations squad for the first two rounds.

The Ireland debut could come as rapidly as the second matchday where Italy will be hosted at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday fortnight (February 10).
