Leinster announce raft of summer coaching courses

Leinster Rugby is delighted to announce a number of coaching courses available for this summer. Whether it's an U-7s team or you are wishing to advance coaching levels, Leinster Rugby has a range of courses available for you to get involved.

How do I know what coaching course to go on?

Stage 1: Minis Coaching Course

The age-grade of players in this category is from U-6 to U-12s. The medium of play is at the forefront of this age group, whereby fun and enjoyment in a positive environment to encourage a motivating experience is the predominant aim. Coaches are thought to act as guides and corrections should be subtle and simple rather than detailed. Focus of the game is mainly based on general movement with player participating in an enjoyable and rewarding experience. All minis courses cost €70.

Stage 2: Foundation Course

The age-grade of players in this category is from U-13 to U-15s. During this stage of coaching, players learn to explore through the game. Coaches teach rather than guide during this level as players at this age-grade is more appropriate for excelled learning.

While the game is still fun and safe at this stage, it moves from open play to a more structured format to introduce basic units of play. All foundation courses cost €70.

Stage 3: Level One Course

This stage of coaching is made up of a category of age-grade players from U-16 to U-18s and adult junior players. Players are highly competitive at this stage and have greater awareness of common values, goals and team spirit. During this stage, the coach aims to challenge the capacities of players and strives for players to have higher standards of performance.

The game evolves during this stage as the performance of individual players, units and the team as a whole is challenged via structured methods with emphasis placed more so on maximising development in the pursuit of achieving desired outcomes and results.

Marketing Manager sought

Reporting to the head of commercial and marketing and working as part of a team, the marketing manager will be responsible for planning and delivering marketing campaigns which drive match attendance, enhance fan engagement and support the overall commercial strategy of Leinster Rugby.

Key responsibilities include:

• Executing brand strategy for Leinster Rugby in line with overall business objectives and brand identity positioning;

• Managing and implementing multi-channel marketing campaigns for Leinster Rugby including, fixtures in the RDS & Aviva, season tickets and brand positioning;

• Leading the decision making process on marketing investment, particularly in respect of digital and social media platforms;

• Developing strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

To be considered for this role you will have:

• A minimum of 7 years consumer marketing, sports marketing or brand management experience;

Carlow, Railway Union and Maynooth seek new coaches

There are a number of coaching positions available across three clubs in the Leinster region.

Co Carlow FC - backs coach or player/coach

The Co Carlow first team will play in Leinster League Division 2A next year with the focus on gaining promotion the year after.

They have an ambitious and talented young group of players who are keen to push on to the next level and win promotion to Division 1B.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of an IRFU accredited level 1 coaching qualification and demonstrate a proven track record of working with, and developing, backs. Ideally a player who has played at AIL level or higher.

The club will provide coaching pathway, giving further coaching opportunities as the club expands and your career develops.

Railway Union RFC - numerous coaching positions available

Railway Union RFC is a progressive and welcoming club based in Sandymount, Dublin 4.

The club has had much success over the last three years, with over 20 trophies won across all teams in the club.

The club will field four adult men's sides and two adult women's sides in 2015/16.

The club has a number of coaching vacancies for the coming season to assist in the implementation of our plans and share in our success:

Maynooth University Rugby - coaching Vacancies

Maynooth University Rugby Club are seeking a head coach and assistant coach for their Men's Freshers and Senior University teams for the forthcoming season.

The successful applicants will be head coach and assist with the development of rugby in the University. They will also be involved in the management and development of the senior team and have a minimum qualification of IRFU Level 1/Level 2 assist coach (or equivalent).
