Leinster 'A' eager to bounce back against Carmarthen
Leinster 'A' will be looking to get their title defence back on track when they host Carmarthen Quins at Donnybrook this afternoon (1.00pm).
The Welsh outfit stunned Girvan Dempsey's side in the previous round after coming back from 21-3 down to snatch a stunning 26-24 win. The defeat was Leinster's first defeat in the competition in over two years but as they bid to become the first side to win the Cup three years running, they have named a strong starting XV.
Luke McGrath captains the side from scrum-half where he partners Cathal Marsh who has been formidable in this competition in recent seasons. The likes of Mick McGrath, Brendan Macken and Josh van der Flier have all lined out in the Pro12 this season. Their experience will be crucial to Leinster's hopes of reversing the defeat to Quins.
Frazier Climo was the Welsh side's hero that day as it was his touchline conversion after replacement prop Ben Leung's try drew them level. The highly-rated Dan Leavy gets a chance to impress in the back-row and if Leinster are to bounce back, he could well prove to be their key man. Verdict: Leinster 'A'
Leinster 'A': C Kelleher; S Coghlan Murray, B Macken, T Daly, M McGrath; C Marsh, L McGrath (capt); I Prenderville, A Dundon, R Burke Flynn; G Thornbury, B Marshall; D Leavy, J van der Flier, P Timmins.
