Josh van der Flier is following return-to-play protocols from a head knock ahead of Leinster's Inter-provincial derby against Munster at Thomond Park on Saturday (KO7.35).

The Ireland flanker lasted around ten minutes in his role from the bench against Ulster before the up-and-coming Will Connors had to come back on.

It could well provide Connors with the perfect setting in which to advertise his credentials to Ireland coach Andy Farrell.

Then again, coach Leo Cullen could look to Scott Penny to play back-to-back matches at openside.

Out-half Ross Byrne has come through his dead leg against Northampton Saints to be ready to train fully this week.

Centre Joe Tomane will increase his training load this week, working his way back from a hamstring strain.

He will be joined by second row Ross Molony, who has recovered from a foot injury.
