Josh van der Flier a doubt for Leinster's December Champions Cup games due to syndesmosis
Josh van der Flier has been ruled out of the November international series ahead of the announcement of Ireland’s squad tomorrow.
In addition, he is borderline to make it for Leinster’s back-to-back fixtures with Exeter Chiefs in The Champions Cup in December.
The in-form flanker has been struck down with syndesmosis and is scheduled for an operation sometime today.
This is a cruel blow for the Leinster loose forward as he had taken full advantage of injuries to Sean O’Brien and Dan Leavy to launch his bid for Ireland involvement.
The 24 year-old was forced off the field in the second-half against Glasgow at Scotstoun on Saturday with what looked like a rolled ankle.
A scan revealed further damage and the rehabilitation process for such an injury usually lasts for 6-8 weeks.
