Isa Nacewa will be in line for an extended spell on the sidelines after ankle surgery.

The dreaded spectre of syndesmosis has risen to jeopardise the Leinster's captain's ability to make the back-to-back Champions Cup fixtures against English champions Exeter Chiefs.

“We’ll see how long exactly he’ll be out for but we’re talking about six weeks for that, we think,” said coach Leo Cullen.

The wear and tear of injury has halted Nacewa's season, his calf causing trouble against The Cheetahs in Bloemfontein last month.
