Cian Healy is expected to be cited this morning and faces an anxious 48 hours to discover if he will be suspended for Leinster's inter-provincial games and any of their European matches after Christmas.
Referee Pascal Gauzere showed the prop a yellow card for apparently making contact with the head of Exeter's Luke Cowan-Dickie at an 18th-minute ruck in Saturday's Aviva Stadium clash.
If cited, it is understood that Healy would face a judicial hearing tomorrow to determine whether he will be sanctioned further.
The incident has been widely compared to the red card shown to Cardiff Blues prop Taufa'ao Filise by Nigel Owens earlier this month.
The Tongan was subsequently banned for six weeks, which was reduced to three.
