Cabra Crusaders off to flyer with mini blitz
On a blustery Wednesday morning in Cabra, over 260 5th and 6th class students from six of the local primary schools descended on Parkview Community Centre to participate in a Tag rugby blitz.
The rugby on the day was played in a friendly fashion. Schools that attended on the day were Mary Help of Christians, St John Bosco's, St Catherine's, St Finbarr's, Christ the King BNS, and Dublin 7 Educate Together.
Pupils prepared for the blitz with the help of Leinster Rugby's Community Rugby Officer Stephen Maher and Dublin City Council Sports Officer Marie Louise Reilly leading up to the blitz.
Thanks to the principals and staff from each of the schools for attending the blitz and helping to make the day a huge success.
Thank you to the pupils for togging out and turning the day into both a competitive and good-natured event, enjoyed by the teachers and parents in attendance.
On the back of such a successful blitz, Dublin City Council and Leinster Rugby are delighted to announce the start of a new mini rugby club in the Cabra area. The Cabra Crusaders is run by Leinster Rugby, and is all about 'Giving Rugby a Try'.
