Seamie Briscoe of Boyne RFC was named as the winner of the Seán O'Brien Hall of Fame award at a lunch in the Intercontinental Hotel last weekend.

The event was a celebration of junior rugby in the 12 counties and was held ahead of the Leinster and Connacht Guinness PRO14 clash.

MC for the day was Philip Lawlor, Head of Rugby Development in Leinster, and this year's panel of speakers was Gordan D'Arcy and Leinster Rugby Academy Manager Noel McNamara, along with current players Adam Byrne and James Tracy.

The six nominees for the Seán O'Brien Hall of Fame Award were nominated from each of the five areas that make up Leinster Rugby together with a nominee from the junior ranks in senior rugby:

North East Area Nominee:

Seamie Briscoe - Boyne RFC

Midlands Area Nominee:

Mick Clavin - Tullamore RFC

Metropolitan Area Nominee:

Denis Collins - Seapoint FC

South East Area Nominee:

John Brown - Tullow RFC

North Midlands Area Nominee:

Chris Moore - Cill Dara RFC

Senior Clubs Nominee:

Stuart Kinlan - Old Wesley RFC

Congratulations to Seamie and to all the nominees. All those nominated are great stalwarts of their clubs and great ambassadors for the game.
