Boost for Leinster as Isa Nacewa to make earlier-than-expected comeback
Leinster captain Isa Nacewa will be available for April's Champions Cup tie against Wasps after his knee injury proved not be as serious as first imagined.
The Fijian flyer pulled up in training recently but a positive scan eliminated any potential fears of a long lay-off and Cullen expects his tasliman to return in a fortnight - and revealed his skipper wants to play until 40 if he can!
"We were fearing the worst but the damage is not as bad as we first feared," confirmed Cullen ahead of Friday night's RDS Guinness Pro 12 clash against Edinburgh.
"When a guy flares up at training, and you send them to see a specialist, you are always fearing the worst. But they were pretty happy that it was minor in the end.
"It was just going into see what exactly what was going on. He is a model professional, he keeps telling me he wants to play until he is 40!
"We are talking about a couple of weeks unless there is a set-back so there are no worries about his availability for the Champions Cup quarter-final date with Wasps.
"He had a keyhole procedure done Tuesday. He had a bit of a loose body taken out and that was causing a bit of irritation. He has a couple of weeks to turn it around so that's where he's at currently."
