Over 150 boys and girls converged on Balbriggan RFC for their eagerly anticipated primary school tag rugby blitz just before Christmas.

The schools involved had just completed a Play Rugby programme where many had not experienced the game before but were really looking forward to playing in the blitz.

Over the Play Rugby programme, pupils from Bracken Educate Together, St Molaga's National School and St George's National School learned all the skills necessary to play the game.

All the children really enjoying the day and learned some new skills. CCRO Glenn Predy says: "The talent in Balbriggan is unbelievable it's just a matter of getting them to the club."

A massive thank you must go to all the referees, teachers and principals for their help on the day and during the programme. Also, to Balbriggan Rugby Club for allowing the use of their facilities for the morning and the coaching work done by Predy of Leinster Rugby throughout.

If other schools in the Balbriggan area would like to participate in similar programmes contact Glenn Predy on 086 3994839 or balbrigganCCRO@leinsterrugby.ie.
