At a recent civic function held by Ardee Traders and Business Association the work of many volunteers was recognised when Ardee RFC was awarded Best Community Group.

This follows the expansion of the club over the last number of years which included the installation of new match-approved lighting and a new clubhouse.

After many years of work there are now in excess of 100 underage players and two adult teams.

There has also been excellent work in the local Community School providing young people with the necessary skills t develop into quality players; they are currently competing at JCT and SCT level having made finals in both over the recent years.

Club stalwart Mick Lennon said: "It's a great honour for the club and it's testament to all the hard work that all of the players and volunteers in the area have done over the last number of years both in rugby and in the community."

Well done to all involved with Ardee RFC from everyone at Leinster!
