Lansdowne stroll through

Lansdowne eased into the final with a victory over DLSP on Saturday at the RDS.

When these sides met in the league in March, a last-minute converted Lansdowne try was all that saved the RDS-based outfit from defeat, and although the Kilternan men opened the scoring with a Conor Hickey penalty after 15 minutes, a repeat of their league display never looked on the cards.

DLSP would have to wait until the last minute of the game to again affect the scoreboard, with Aidan Philpott going over for a try which Hickey failed to convert.

Between the opening and closing DLSP scores, Lansdowne went over six times, with Andrew Geraghty converting all but one. The tries came from Dominic Ryan and Willie Earlis, with Ron Boucher and Matt Healy accounting for two each, Healy's brace coming in the space of three minutes midway through the second half, both from identical plays down the left wing.

Lansdowne now play Bruff in the final on Friday, May 7, at 8.0.
