POLL: Are you pleased with Andy Farrell's appointment as Ireland's next defence coach?

Yesterday's surprise announcement that former England assistant coach Andy Farrell would be taking over from Les Kiss as Ireland's defence coach after the Six Nations got a mixed reaction in the Irish rugby community.

Brian O'Driscoll is among those to have endorsed the move from the IRFU while George Hook has been scathing in his criticism of the news.

O'Driscoll and a number of other Irish players got up close and personal with Farrell at the Lions Tour in 2013, when he was preferred to Wales' Shaun Edwards for the defence role.

On the flipside, Farrell was heavily criticised in the aftermath of England's Rugby World Cup disaster, in particular among some senior players.
