Joy Neville to make history this Friday after PRO 14 appointment
Irish referee Joy Neville will take charge of her first ever PRO 14 game this Friday at Kingspan Ravenhill when Ulster take on the Southern Kings.
Neville, a former Irish rugby international, will become the first woman to referee a PRO 14 game. The Limerick woman has made great strides in officiating in recent years, having previously held the whistle in the European Challenge Cup, which saw her become the first woman to referee a European professional match.
Her achievements saw her win the World Rugby Referee of the Year award in 2017.
Neville won a Grand Slam with the Irish women's team in 2013.
