Ireland are one of four teams who could start next week as the world's number-one team, despite the fact that they don't have a match.

Joe Schmidt's side are currently in Portugal for a training camp ahead of the World Cup, but they could be top dogs when the World Rugby rankings are released on Monday.

Ireland's route to the top looks unlikely as they'd need England and Wales to draw in Cardiff tomorrow, with New Zealand either losing to or drawing with Australia at Eden Park. The All Blacks' No 1 ranking is vulnerable after their recent dip in form culminated in their 47-26 defeat to Australia last Saturday.
