IRELAND coach Joe Schmidt has added three players to the squad for the Guinness Series games in November amid mounting injury problems.

Munster's Donncha O'Callaghan plus Ulster's Andrew Trimble and Roger Wilson have joined the squad which assembled  in Carton House this weekend.

Brian O’Driscoll has recovered from a calf injury and is expected to train fully this week, as is Mike Ross, who was suffering with his hamstring.

But Paul O’Connell, Cian Healy and Keith Earls will all sit out the Carton sessions this week. Other Irish players carrying injuries include Sean O’Brien and Rory Best but both are likely to return to training later in the week.

Ireland open the series against Samoa on November 9, followed by Australia a week later and finally New Zealand on Sunday November 24.

The game against New Zealand is already sold out.
