Ian O'Grady the star in Gonzaga stroll over Newbridge
Gonzaga College 32 Newbridge College 0
Gonzaga eased their way into the second round draw after scoring four answered tries against a Newbridge College side who never really threatened to cause an upset.
The game was beyond the Kildare school by the interval as 'Zaga had built up a commanding 22-0 lead.
Eoin Barr got them off to an ideal start with an early penalty before Max Neville capitalised on a sloppy error to cross for the opening try.
'Zaga punished a penalty miss two minutes later when Ian O'Grady powered his way over and Barr was on hand to brilliantly land the touchline conversion. O'Grady turned provider shortly before the break when he jinked his way passed three defenders before popping the ball for Eoin Buggy who got in under the posts. Barr again added the extras for a 22-0 lead.
Barr then fired over a penalty midway through the second half and Brian O'Donnell showed blistering pace late on to streak clear of a tired defence and Barr converted.
