Hudson injury mars Leinster field day

Leinster A 47 Leeds Carnegie 18

Leinster's seven-try dismissal of English Championship club Leeds Carnegie in Pool 5 was marred by a shoulder injury to full-back Darren Hudson at Donnybrook.

Second-row Tom Denton must have felt some sympathy for his former clubmates, as Leinster ripped the visitors apart in the first-half, striking for tries by flanker Jordan Coghlan, centre Brendan Macken -- they were both created by Hudson -- and blindside Jack Conan for a 23-6 lead at the interval.

There was a cohesion and sharpness to Leinster's work. The bonus-point was quickly ensured by left-wing Sam Coghlan-Murray. Hudson got in on the act before he was taken off in obvious pain, while No 8 Leo Auva'a and wing Fionn Carr completed the rout.
