Hircock double helps keep Plymouth at bay

Plymouth 22 Munster 26
British and Irish Cup

Munster began their title defence with a narrow win, thanks to tries from Corey Hircock (two), Ian Nagle and the boot of JJ Hanrahan.

Munster attacked from the get go with Hanrahan releasing the backline and Hircock going over. Munster got a penalty from the restart and took a quick tap, before Hircock again touched down to make it 12-0.

After Nagle was binned Albion's Paul Roberts kicked a penalty, but Hanrahan responded to make it 15-3.

Henry Slade scored a home try, but Nagle's return saw him get on the end of a Hanrahan cross-field kick and the Reds went in at half time 20-15 up. Further Hanrahan penalties sealed the win in the second half.
