Henson set for Toulon after Saracens exit
Saracens have cleared the way for Gavin Henson to complete a move to Toulon after releasing the Wales centre from his contract.
It is believed that the 29-year-old is set to make a move to the Top 14 club on a short-term deal until the end of the season having only signed for Saracens until the end of the current campaign in October.
Henson wasn't named in the Wales squad for the forthcoming Six Nations however Andy Powell will play against England tomorrow night in his first game in the competition since the infamous golf buggy incident last season.
And he has warned debutant England flanker Tom Wood that a fine club season for Northampton might not be sufficient preparation for what is heading his way tomorrow night in Cardiff.
"He's an all-round good player and is quite similar to our own Sam Warburton at Wales," said Powell.
"But he's been quite lucky with a pack going forward and we have not seen him with a pack going back yet. So hopefully, on Friday he will be on the back foot and we will be able to get on top of him."
As for his own reappearance in the tournament, Powell said: "I always knew that I could get back, it was just whether I could get my head straight and get back to playing to where I know I can."
While Wales head coach Warren Gatland had signposted his selection up front, the back division he unveiled is a different matter, with James Hook switching to full-back instead of Lee Byrne and Morgan Stoddard coming in on the wing. Hook was also seriously considered as the starting out-half in place of Stephen Jones. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
