Heineken Cup - Pool 6 wrap

Talking point

A very good weekend for Munster was made all the better when their nearest rivals Gloucester slipped up at home to Edinburgh.

Gloucester's second defeat of the pool puts a major dent in their hopes of progressing to the quarter-finals as Munster opened up a five-point lead at the top.

Munster travel to Kingsholm in the next pool game , and a win would guarantee them first place. Just a point separated the two sides before the weekend; Munster's situation now looks a lot more comfortable.

Penney wants action

The decision of Perpignan president Francois Riviere to launch an official complaint to ERC against last weekend's referee Greg Garner put JP Doyle under serious pressure, according to Rob Penney.

"It would be great to see repercussions on that, because otherwise all coaches would just criticise the heck out of administrators, and we can't do that," the Munster coach said.

Numbers game

30JJ Hanrahan may only have been on the pitch for two minutes, but he made the most metres of any of the Munster players.
