Healy and Carty take top CYM honours
Last Friday CYM Rugby Club held their annual President's Dinner to celebrate their 90th year and their successes during the season.
The night was a fantastic occasion, with over 100 players, members and guests sitting down to dine, including some very special invited guests.
Ireland's baggage master and guest speaker Patrick 'Rala' O'Reilly, Ireland women's captain Fiona Coghlan and her team-mate Jeannette Feighery were all present.
Central to the night was the presentation of players' awards.
Top honours – the player of the year gongs – went to inspirational women's full-back Brenda Healy and the men's brilliant back-row Kev Carty for their outstanding performances on the pitch throughout the season.
The recognition was thoroughly deserved by both.
Presentations were also made to CYM women's coaches Felix Byrne and John Conway by the women's captain Diane McIlhagga for their contributions to the team's success.
The awards were concluded with the presentation of two honours caps to president Dave Cruddas and honorary secretary Bernard Murray for their services to CYM Rugby.
The full list of awards were as follows:
Player of the Year - Brenda Healy
Players' Back of the Year - Siobhan Leahy
