Finglas was recently the venue for a tag rugby blitz featuring St Kevin's Boys and St Oliver's girls after their six-week block of coaching.

A fantastic display of the children's skills ensued and they were all a credit to both their teachers and coaches.

The blitz was a culmination of the work carried out in the area by Leinster rugby officer Eoin Smyth and he was happy to see the development of the children's abilities over the course of the sessions.

"It was great to see the kids using their training and showing all their talent – Finglas has a lot of good young sportspeople and it's great that they are now trying their hand at rugby as well," he said.

"Introductory full-contact sessions have begun in St Kevin's Boys and it's fantastic to see the eagerness of the players to develop their rugby capabilities and the help of the teachers in the school has been invaluable."
