Eddie O'Sullivan has been out of the game for too long - O'Driscoll
Brian O'Driscoll has hailed the appointment of former Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan as head coach of Biarritz.
O'Driscoll, who combined with O'Sullivan to win Triple Crowns in 2004, '06 and '07, said on Twitter: "About time Eddie O'Sullivan got a professional club coaching job. Been too long. A lot to offer."
O'Driscoll's successor as Leinster captain, Leo Cullen, also endorsed his former boss.
"Eddie is a very, very good coach," said Cullen. "It's incredibly surprising that he hasn't been picked up by a team earlier than this. Eddie is a very organised guy and he'll get a very good set-up around him, I'm sure.
"I know how organised he is. And in many ways, he will be a loss to the game here, the professional set-up. Ultimately, he's too good a coach not to be involved in the game."
Munster have confirmed that O'Sullivan was not offered a backs coach job with the province.
