Dodd closes out victory for Dundalk

Dundalk 17
Tullow 10

Three second-half tries by John Dodd, Stephen McGee and Ene Fa'Atua were enough to see Dundalk qualify for the final in Kilcock yesterday.

William 'Cas' O'Brien crossed for a Tullow try in the 22nd minute and, after dominating for the second quarter, an upset looked on as they led 5-0 at the break.

Fa'Atua equalised early in the second half when he broke from a five-meter scrum to cross the line and Dodd then converted.

McGee's touchdown then put the Co Louth side further ahead to give their hopes a real boost.

With minutes to go Tullow's Frank Murphy crossed for an unconverted try, but Dundalk had the last word when out-half Dodd touched down in the corner.
