Leinster centre Gordon D'Arcy has been ruled out of Friday's Amlin Challenge Cup final against Stade Francais at the RDS as the club continue to sweat on the fitness of his midfield partner Brian O'Driscoll.

Joe Schmidt confirmed that D'Arcy (pictured) will miss out after his calf problem was diagnosed as a tear, but the coach is hopeful that the rest of his walking wounded will make the first of two finals in successive weeks.

"Sean O'Brien would have a really strong chance to play," said Schmidt. "Brian O'Driscoll, I think, has a pretty good chance to play – we'll find out in the next 48 hours.

Hooker Richardt Strauss (knee), Fergus McFadden (shin) and Sean O'Brien (calf) are also shrouded by injury concerns.

"There's a few other guys who are a bit battered and bruised, but no one who would be ruled out by it."
