Conway desperate to make big impression

ANDREW CONWAY will be looking to make a strong impression when Leinster 'A' take on Newport in the opening round of the British and Irish Cup at Rodney Parade tomorrow (2.30).

The Ireland U-20 star is on the right wing and a big game could see Conway come into Magners League reckoning with a clutch of Leinster backs about to be called up by Declan Kidney ahead of the November Internationals.

Conway forms a pacy back-three alongside Niall Morris and David Kearney, with Ian Madigan and Paul O'Donohoe at half-back. There is plenty of experience up front where Stephen Keogh captains the side from No 8, with Trevor Hogan in the second row and summer signing Ben Prescott at tight-head.

Ulster have named a strong Ravens side for their B&I clash with Swansea at St Helens this afternoon, when flanker Willie Faloon gets the opportunity to work off his frustration at being dropped from the senior squad.

Nigel Brady captains the side from hooker with Ryan Caldwell in the second row, while Mark McCrea will be looking to further his senior ambitions with a strong showing out wide.
