Galwegians have one final shot at taking something from the 2015-16 season when they clash with Ulster Bank League Division 1A finalists Cork Con, in the Bateman Cup final at Crowley Park tomorrow.

It's a massive game for both sides, but with Con likely to have an eye on their 1A decider against Clontarf next weekend, Galwegians have a brilliant opportunity to get some silverware.

It was a disastrous ending to their league campaign, when in the most unlikely of circumstances, Galwegians were relegated to Division 1B on points difference after Ballynahinch scored a massive 59-5 win at home to Garryowen.

At the same time Galwegians conceded a last-minute try against Cork Con and fell to a 26-16 defeat at Temple Hill.

That will only add to the sense of revenge for the hosts in Glenina tomorrow, as they face a side who won the Bateman Cup in 2013, '14 and '15.

And Galwegians will be desperate for a repeat of their 12-11 win over Cork Con at Crowley Park earlier this season as they aim to take something from their season, and then prepare to bounce straight back next term.

It won't be easy, however - there they will be joined by fellow Connacht outfit Buccaneers, who lost their promotion play-off semi-final to Ballynahinch last weekend.
