The Heineken Junior Cup was in full flow last weekend as seven teams progressed to the quarter-finals.

Sunday's action saw Creggs, NUIG, Monivea and Westport join Tuam, Ballinasloe and Ballina in the draw for the last eight.

Both Creggs and NUIG, who are flying high in division J1B, defeated J1A opposition to book their place in the next round. Creggs were narrow winners over Connemara.

Meanwhile, NUIG produced arguably the result of the competition so far as they downed Buccaneers 24-0 in Dubarry Park.

Dunmore produced a battling display away to J1A league leaders Westport but were ultimately on the wrong end of a 15-6 scoreline.

Just a single score separated Monivea and Castlebar in Athenry as Monivea emerged victorious by 20-17.

Loughrea versus Galwegians fell foul of the poor weather conditions; the game will be replayed this weekend.

The draw for the quarter final was conducted on Galway Bay FM on Sunday evening as the nine teams still remaining in this season's competition eagerly awaited their faith.

The draw through up some interesting ties as NUIG face a tough trip to face Westport and Creggs will look forward to hosting Ballina.
