The Hartmanns of Galway and Seiko Watches April Player of the Month award is up for grabs with Niyi Adeolokun, Peter Robb and Tom McCartney all nominated.

The candidates were nominated by the players and management, and the fans are able to vote for their choice on the Connacht Rugby Facebook page.

April was a difficult month for the province, but the historic 35-14 victory over Munster at the Sportsground made it a double over their rivals this term.

But that result was tempered by the Pro12 defeats to Ulster and Treviso, and Connacht were knocked out of the Challenge Cup in the quarter-final, where Grenoble were just too strong.

Connacht began the month well with a spirited display at Kingspan Stadium but they slipped to a 18-10 defeat against Ulster - Caolin Blade got the Westerners' only try.

They then made the journey to France and despite a pair of early tries from Adeolokun, and further efforts from Robbie Henshaw and Matt Healy, Connacht came up short against Grenoble.

They returned to Pro12 action on April 16, with a sumptuous display and a 21-point hammering of Munster.

Adeolokun scored twice again, while Finlay Bealham also touched down along with a penalty try to ensure the bonus point win.

Connacht went to Treviso knowing that a point was enough to secure a first Pro12 semi-final. They left with a 22-21 defeat. Robb got his first try for the province. Fionn Carr and Rory Parata also scored tries, and despite the loss Connacht qualified for the final four.

Adeolokun, Robb and McCartney featured in all four games during the month, and all continued their fine form this season
