The future is bright: Ryan Feehily (Sub academy)
I played a variety of sports when I was younger. I was first introduced to rugby when I was ten, by my neighbour, who was the coach for the U-11 Community Games rugby team and also the Sligo RFC U-11s coach.
After I competed for the Community Games team, he then encouraged me to join Sligo RFC.
I went to Sligo Grammar School, and played three years of junior rugby and two years of senior rugby. I was fortunate enough to participate in two Junior Cup finals, and one Senior Cup final. We also won one Junior Development Cup.
I played centre until junior level, where I moved to full-back but I was always a utility back. Scrum-half is now my preferred position.
I represented Connacht U-18s for two years and played with the U-20s this year.
Favourite Connacht game: Watching Connacht beat Leinster 10-9 at the Sportsground last season would have to be the most memorable.
Most memorable game I have played in?
Winning the Senior Cup final in 2014 and being awarded Man of the Match was a special moment. It went to a replay, were complete underdogs, and won by a very tight margin
Favourite ground?
Although playing against Ulster in Ravenhill was spectacular, it would have to be the Sportsground. The atmosphere there is amazing.
