Peter Oloyede of Sligo Grammar
Peter Oloyede of Sligo Grammar

Name: Peter Oloyede

School: Sligo Grammar School

Position: Flanker

Biggest influence: My brother, John, who encouraged me to persist at the game.

Player most admired and why: The legendary Jonah Lomu, because he has always been an inspiration to me in my life in rugby. He worked so hard at his game and is a hero to so many as a result.

Most memorable game: The Connacht Schools Junior Cup semi-final game at home against Summerhill College. Also the 2014 Senior Cup final against Garbally College.

What does it mean to captain the side this year? It means a lot to me that I have been trusted to lead a talented and dedicated team of friends and schoolmates, and I hope that I am leading them in the right direction. As I see it my job is to encourage the team and maintain control in the most pressurised situations on the field.
