Connacht speedster Niyi Adeolokun has claimed the Hartmanns of Galway and SEIKO Watches April Player of the Month award.

The 25-year-old winger has made 30 appearances and scored nine tries in his first two seasons with the province since he joined from Ulster Bank League outfit Dublin University.

Adeolokun only won 13 caps in 2014-'15 but he has thrived on the experience, and now he has become a regular member of the Connacht match-day squad and one of the team's most potent attacking threats.

The Nigerian-born flyer's acceleration is his main asset, as he continues to expose defences with his raw talent and eye for an opportunity.

Adeolokun was the major shining light in a testing month for the province - he starred in their Challenge Cup quarter-final exit against Grenoble at Stade des Alpes. And he was to the forefront again, as Connacht returned to Pro12 action with a landmark victory over Munster at the Sportsground.

After losing in Ulster, Connacht then travelled to France where they were narrowly edged out by Grenoble, but Adeolokun scored two quick-fire tries in the first half.

Connacht bounced back with a wonderful 35-14 hammering of Munster at the Sportsground. And Adeolokun was on hand to add another pair of tries of his season's tally.

That inter-provincial victory over Munster was massive boost, and although they didn't win away Treviso in their final game in April, they did manage a losing bonus point and qualified for the Pro12 play-offs.
