With Connacht entering the unknown in the next few weeks, it's important that the senior players make their presence felt.

It seems that any time Robbie Henshaw is playing for Connacht he is the man talked about after the game. And rightly so, he is the star attraction being an Irish international, but now the senior guys need to really step up too.

There are leaders within that Connacht squad, guys who have been there for years. You would hope the likes of John Muldoon and Aly Muldowney will make their voices heard on the pitch and lead by example.

They have been two of the star performers this season but they need to keep that up now for the closing rounds.

If the younger guys see them making all the right calls on the field then they will respond in kind and put their bodies on the line for them.

Every team needs its senior guys to be performing, even the likes of Michael Swift in the background. He should be driving the lads off the pitch and it can become a season to remember for Connacht, with qualification for the Champions Cup a real possibility.
