One of the first issues that Pat Lam is likely to address this season is who fills the No 10 shirt on a regular basis. With Dan Parks gone, the Connacht backline needs a consistent face in there.
The front-runners for the job are Miah Nikora, Jack Carty and Craig Ronaldson, with Miah the only one with real experience there. This year is the chance that all three have been waiting for and they'll all look to step up and set their stall out.
Ideally your ten needs to be playing every week so he can build his own confidence and keep the continuity with those around him. These guys touch the ball the most in the game so it's vital that there is a good rapport between them all.
I really hope we see Pat put his faith behind one or other of them: you just can't keep changing. We all know that Kieran Marmion will be the first choice in the No 9 shirt, as he was last year. Just look at how he flourished when given a good run as starter.
Give a guy three or four games and see how it goes. If he does well then leave him in there, but players - especially the tens - need a good, long run in the team to settle.
