Lam happy with Gloucester date
Connacht coach Pat Lam said he is happy with scheduling of their Challenge Cup quarter-final against Gloucester, which has been fixed for Friday, April 3.
The game, which will kick off at 7.45 at Kingsholm, will be live on Sky Sports.
The game could have taken place any time from Thursday evening to Sunday evening, and with Connacht due to play Munster the previous Saturday an Ulster the following Saturday, Lam is pleased with the fixture.
"I am very happy with the scheduling, I would rather have the longer turnaround after the game.
"We will have Munster before the six-day turnaround which we have been used but I am glad we have an eight-day turnaround to play Ulster because the Pro12 is our main priority.
"If we can these four games out of the way and get the wins that we want, we can go into those games one game at a time. One final, next final, next final and we can really apply ourselves in all of that," he said.
Gloucester defeated Harlequins 25-7 in the LV=Cup last weekend but it was not enough to secure a place in the semi-finals as Saracens beat Exeter on Sunday and that was enough to send both of them into the last four.
Gloucester will resume their Premiership campaign this evening when they travel to play Leicester Tigers.
Gloucester are ninth on 29 points, with Leicester sixth on 35 points.
