Lam delighted with 'strong candidates' for forwards job
Connacht have been inundated with applications to take over from Dan McFarland as forwards coach.
Pat Lam confirmed that he is n the process of coming up with a shortlist before launching the interview process in the coming weeks.
McFarland will join Glasgow as their forwards coach this summer, but Lam is delighted to have some top names in the mix to replace his right-hand man.
"It's a great job and it's pleasing that we have good people applying for it. We'll shortlist a few soon and then go through the interview process," said Lam.
"The applications closed last week and we have a lot of strong candidates."
Meanwhile, Lam said the province are continuing their player recruitment process, but that it's a constant battle to find a player that fits the Connacht profile.
"Names come up, but it's all about what we can fit in our budget, what fits our profile and what we can afford," Lam said.
"You watch European Cup rugby last week. Toulon, they've won three in a row and you think of the resources they have, and Clermont and the resources they have.
"But we are pretty comfortable with what we are doing with what we do by developing players and bring players through for Connacht and Ireland."
