Connacht achieved a big points haul from their last block of games and they can move on now, with their heads held high and full of confidence, writes Johnny O'Connor.

The swagger is back, and although they would have been disappointed to miss out on a bonus point in the Dragons game, they made up for that in the last two weeks.

Connacht are in a really strong position to push for a play-off spot now. And when it comes to any knockout competition Connacht can always win - they possess the right game-plan to take on teams and beat them on a one-off basis.

It is very hard to tell if Connacht are back to where they were last year just yet. But they can't be that far off it either. To get a bonus point against Zebre, on the same evening that Ulster struggled against Treviso, speaks volumes for where this Connacht side are at.

Connacht are still a fantastic team even if they aren't in as high a league position this time around, and they will finish the season strong. They have momentum and confidence behind them now and I can't see them getting knocked off seventh by Cardiff Blues.

Whoever they have to play in this knockout competition to get into the Champions Cup, they will get the win. I have no doubt they would win a play-off even if it was away from home.
