Connacht and Irish Rugby star Robbie Henshaw delivered an insightful and entertaining talk at the awards ceremony for scholarship students in NUI Galway this week.

Robbie spoke to the 70-plus recipients of the NUI Galway Scholarships for Sporting and Academic Excellence about his own career and studies (Robbie has completed two years of his Arts degree). He also explained what it takes to successfully combine study with being a professional athlete.

Dr Pat Morgan, vice president for the Student Experience, presented the scholarships and the event was also attended by acting head of sport, Kathy Hynes and director of student services, John Hannon. Also present were more than 150 family and friends of the scholarship recipients.

The event was hosted in the historic Aula Maxima of the Quadrangle, one of the original structures of the university.
