Galwegians finally got their first win of the season in Round 9 and they prevented Nenagh Ormond from getting a losing bonus point at Crowley Park. Galwegians remain bottom of 2A but closed the gap to seven points.

Buccaneers have fallen to the bottom of Division 1B of the All-Ireland League as they head into the Christmas break.

They have won just twice this season and slipped to a disappointing 27-22 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Ballymena at Dubarry Park last weekend.

It was a seventh defeat of the campaign for Buccaneers.

In 2B, Sligo are fifth, one place and three points ahead of Connacht rivals Corinthians after nine games. Sligo won at home to Belfast Harlequins last time out while Corinthians were beaten on the road against Wanderers.

Ballina are still top of 2C and three points clear with eight wins from nine games.
